"If I can do this, anyone can."
When the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama wellness campaign and Fitness Court programming came to Saraland, Kristin was contacted by Saraland Parks and Rec to participate in the ambassador program as she was already teaching a popular power yoga class in Town Center Park.
After coming to terms with her own health struggles, Kristin turned to fitness and never looked back. In her past she was obese, pre-diabetic, suffering from arthritis and fibromyalgia and knew she needed to make a change if she was going to be able to chase after her young children. She first found power yoga, and that taught her that her body could do more than she thought.
Once she discovered the Fitness Court, she fell in love.
Kristin loves that the workout can be easily modified for all levels and believes it’s especially important for those that suffer from joint issues. As someone who had little mobility and no flexibility, she preaches if she can do it, anyone can.
As an ambassador, Kristin is excited to promote the Fitness Court in the community. She helped start a local Facebook group, which has over 100 members now. It’s been encouraging to see people come and bring their families to work out with them. She’s already seeing an impact as word spreads and looks forward to the growing attendance at her weekly classes.
