In partnership with municipalities, schools, and sponsors, over $100 million in public-private investment has been raised to combat obesity and the burdens of sedentary lifestyles. The Campaign provides expertise in building funding, masterplanning, and community building to build healthy communities. NFC's mission is to build healthy communities with a goal of bringing a Fitness Court® within a 10 minute bike ride of every American.

The Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas and NFC Campaign in Texas is delivering outdoor wellness infrastructure to help communities stay active across the state, in an effort to change health outcomes. Out of Texas' 254 counties, there are open Fitness Courts® across 28.

Campaign Successes
The University of Texas at Dallas
In May 2023, the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas campaign welcomed not only its first higher education partner in the University of Texas at Dallas but also the first Fitness Court® Studio in the state. Located near the University’s Recreation Center, the Fitness Court® Studio now serves as an outdoor wellness hub for nearly 34,000 students, faculty and staff. It is within walking or cycling distance to nearly 55,000 local residents and is conveniently located right next to a high traffic walking path, along a bus route and adjacent to a large parking lot.
