Hyattsville is First in Maryland to Make Outdoor Fitness Free for All

Free fitness has arrived in the greater Washington D.C. metro area! Thanks to the efforts of the City’s Recreation Department, and support from local fitness and wellness advocates, Hyattsville has joined the National Fitness Campaign and installed the first Fitness Court® in the state. In 38th Avenue Park, one of the community’s most vibrant and active spaces, this city is making world-class wellness accessible — for everyone!

The Fitness Court is designed to transform this well-loved public park into a community wellness hub. A free Fitness Court App available for iOS and Android helps residents track their training progress, learn simple seven-movement routines and compete in exciting fitness challenges year-round on the Fitness Court!

To give residents a jump-start on their back-to-school workout schedule, the Fitness Court is now open for drop-in classes and individual use! Attendees can sign up for free express classes, one-on-one Ambassador training opportunities, and giveaways from local vendors through the City’s Recreation Department, and the gym is free and open to all users ages 14 and up.

We’ll see you on the #FitnessCourt!
