Lakewood is Next in Colorado to Make Outdoor Fitness Free for All Residents

Lakewood, Colorado is celebrating 50 years of being a diverse, inclusive and forward-thinking community in the southwest Denver metro area. When incorporated, this city of independent neighborhoods banded together to create what we now know as the fifth-largest city in Colorado. As one of the many celebrations of wellness this fall, Lakewood’s Park and Recreation Department is excited to host a grand opening for the new Fitness Court® in Addenbrooke Park!

Addenbrooke Park really has it all — a beautiful lake with stunning mountain views, walking and biking paths, even a horse arena and trails. The Fitness Court® is going to further activate the park by providing residents the ability to get a no-cost, full-body workout in just 7 minutes, completely free!

The city’s Park and Recreation staff has worked tirelessly to bring the Fitness Court® to Lakewood over the last year. Special thanks are in order for Jayna Lang, the Recreation Program Manager, for spearheading the efforts and bringing this project to life. Local designer Paul Koob created the unique design featured on the rear wall of the Fitness Court, highlighting the broad community of users this outdoor facility serves.

Community members are invited to a free-for-all-attendees launch event on Wednesday, September 4th from 5 PM - 7 PM! Local Ambassadors will provide free express classes, coaching on how to use the free Fitness Court App, and ongoing classes for all residents and fitness abilities.

Let’s meet on the #FitnessCourt!
