The City of Oakley will soon cut the ribbon on their beautiful new outdoor Fitness Court®, built in partnership with Bay Cities Paving, the Contra Costa Transportation Authority, GoMentum Station, and National Fitness Campaign, making world-class fitness free for all. Connected to the active, vibrant Delta de Anza Regional Trail and nestled alongside the new multi-million dollar Recreation Center complex, this free community gym highlights Oakley’s commitment to creating wellness opportunities for all residents and underscores the outstanding quality of life in this quiet, San Francisco Bay Area suburb.

Residents of Oakley will now enjoy a full healthy living ecosystem — and with this simple free tool, now Contra Costa County residents can stay fit in just seven minutes a day! When cities invest in connected, healthy infrastructure, citizens are encouraged to bike and walk — getting out of their cars, and back into their communities — and this reduces traffic pollution and congestion on highways and roads.

“Our goal at the Contra Costa Transportation Authority is to keep Contra Costa moving, and it has been exciting to see how Oakley has taken that concept and applied it in a way that benefits all members of our community – and will hopefully also benefit the environment and economy of our City,” said Oakley City Council Member and Contra Costa Transportation Authority Commissioner Kevin Romick.

The Oakley Fitness Court is part of a nationwide effort launched by National Fitness Campaign (NFC), and the City is teaming up with local ambassadors to connect their fitness community to free activities and experiences that encourage a healthy lifestyle. With the free Fitness Court App for iOS and Android, users can access free classes and a coach-in-the-pocket for using the Court solo!
